Jane Vinther has a cand.mag. degree in English and pedagogy from SDU Odense University. She has been on the teaching staff of SDU Odense University for a number of years and has taught a variety of disciplines. In recent years she has focused on English written proficiency and grammar. In 1999 Jane received the Teacher of the Year award from the Faculty of the Humanities.
Her research interests lie in second language acquisition and computer assisted language learning. Her Ph.D. research is connected to the VISL project in that she is investigating the effects which the use of VISL's automatic parser may have on student acquisition of metalinguistic knowledge about English grammar.
